Xiaxue's Flea

Thursday, April 26, 2012
As some of you probably know, Wendy is moving house so she held a flea to clear some of her items!
It was done in conjunction with Jipaban's warehouse sale which also featured a lot of good buys!

She had some "star buys" like her blinged camera so some girls came really early to queue.
The flea started at 12pm & the first girl (who got the camera) came at 10pm the night before O.O
The gates were locked though, so she returned at 5am O.O
Serious dedication!

So anyway Yutaki & I looked through her items for fun (we reached at 4pm, by which the majority of her things were gone & there was still a long queue outside) & picked out some of the ... (I leave you to fill in the adjective hahaha) ones & took photos!

Micro-tiny skirt. Wouldn't even cover my butt if I wore this.

Shockingly, this is a skirt & not a tube bra! #troll

This bib-thing is what girls used to wear as a "bra" back in the what... Qing Dynasty?
Except of course Wendy intended to wear this on its own lololol.

Wendy's "counter"! Basically totally empty O.O

She has this cap in 2 other colours!

Wendy talking to her mom (Momo) while Yutaki digs for more treasure.

HOHO, what did he find?

Ok I think this is still relatively decent, it's actually quite cute but just a bit too retro for my liking!
Pretty sure I saw a girl buy this (clothes at $2 each).

Take a look at this instead:

Ok no more!

Over at the Jipaban side:
Shoes at $10 each!

I bought a pair of heels which are actually a size too small O.O
(I'm a size Eur 37)

Group shots with Kaykay, Wendy & Yutaki:

Random photo of (L-R): Wendy's blinged iPhone, Kaykay's Hershey chocolates which are apparently only 10 calories each, can of ILT I bought, popiah Kaykay bought &... my Blackberry, for which I finally managed to capture a shot of the blinking alert light!

I purchased the BeBuzz app which allows you to customise alert colours on your BB.
Blue (in the picture) means emails, pink for BBMs, green for Twitter, white for Whatsapp.
And... rainbow for phone calls! Really pretty! *vomits rainbow*

You can customise any colour & the speed of the flashing too!
Like you can get a "wave" of different pinks, or rapid/slow rainbow... etc etc.

Ok back to studying for me.
Good luck to my fellow exam-takers!

Dip Dye at Salon Vim

Friday, April 20, 2012
Hello! I'm finally doing up a post on the dip-dye I did at Salon Vim about 2 weeks ago! :)
I loved the result & especially how they took so much care of my hair to help it stay healthy despite the bleaching (especially at the bottom).

Random picture I found of me with my old hair as a sort of "Before" picture!
I think this is the stillshot captured when I did my Poetree video!

So anyway it was my first time down at Salon Vim, which is conveniently located in town!
313 @ Somerset Orchard Road #04-07/08/09

I was assigned one specific hairstylist to do all my future hair appointments with, so that she can learn about my hair type & likes specifically to cater more to my needs (or my hair's needs rather).
They literally have an appointment card with your hair type, length... etc.

The above is a chart showing the different products that Salon Vim uses from L'Oreal Professional & they have so many... O.O products for all kinds of hair types, hair treatments, hair services done...

It was my fair time getting a hair treatment done too!
I didn't really know what was going on & left them to it.
Here are the L'Oreal Professional products they used for me:

They're specially selected based on what I was doing that day!
(Touch-up of roots & bleaching of the bottom to get the dip-dye effect)

They used #2 of the top (pink) row, which is a range for coloured hair!
#2 is for locking in the hair colour after dyeing.

I think the bulk of the rest that they used for my treatment is from the 2nd row, orange-coloured!
It's all about restoring the hair & making it healthy again despite the stuff done to it!

They applied the stuff & used this machine below:

Never seen this machine before. It's kind of like a steamer!
They repeated the process a few times: apply, steam, apply, steam

No wonder my hair came out looking so nice at the end of the visit!
They also gave me some take-home L'Oreal Professional products to help improve my hair's condition.

Shampoo from the Vitamino (for coloured hair) range & hair mask from Force Vector (hair fall)!

Vitamino Colour Shampoo

Force Vector Masque
(not Mask meh?)
(my spell-check didn't underline it)
(I'll go check the spell-check dictionary)
(wtf it's an alternative spelling? Since when?)
(it's the equivalent of "mask" in French anyway)

Ok anyway... Done with my hair!
Asked them to blow-dry it with curls :D

My hair has a few streaks here & there of the same colour as the bottom!
My stylist suggested it & I think the highlights are a great idea! Maybe I'll get more :D

This is my stylist, Stephanie!
You can look for her if you go down to the salon!
(but try to make an appointment first)

Went home & took loads of photos because my hair was so nice that day!

I have more (LOL) so here's just a few...
I loosened the curls a little after dinner at 313!

My hair was so soft & nice!

On normal days it is NEVER like this O.O
I have been lazy with using the hair mask/masque & shampoo...

Still using up my old bottle! But I wanna do more colours with the dip-dyed bottom so I'm going to have to start with the products they passed me! My contingency plan is to chop it all off, that's why I picked dip-dye in the first place haha. And I didn't want to bleach the top because it'll hurt my scalp!
Salon Vim did a really good job with my hair though, happy! :D

New white Blackberry 9900:

I like it! It's supposed to be able to tether a wifi hotspot just like the iPhone can; a friend of mine said it works with her iPad! It would be awesome if my iTouch can connect via wifi to my BB's data!

That was taken while getting my dip-dye hair done (will blog about that soon) so I got bored & also took pictures of my 3 most-used lipsticks (I have lipglosses too but I hardly use them), which are all pink:

Without flash

With flash:

I lost the cap to my MAC lipstick like... 5 days after I got it.
That's why the edge of the stick has a weird shape because my eyeliner keeps stabbing into it haha.

FYI if you keep your old MAC containers (used up the makeup) you can trade it in!
6 containers = 1 MAC lipstick (costs around $36)

Heavy Rotation is a brand we found at Sasa Malaysia, Wendy says it's really good so I got one.

The NYX one is really pink, it's what I'm wearing in the pictures below:

My black top with gold sequin collar is from Hungover Sundays, a blogshop set up by my friends!
(2 of the owners are beside me in the picture above haha - Daphne & Sofie)

With Daphne & Hazel, who is helping to model for their collections!

Oh yeah this was not long after my fringe had been cut a tad bit too short, so for the last few weeks I looked very toot & wasn't too keen on taking photos hahaha. Ok it looks better here already.

Back when I was still using my old Blackberry 9780!

With Zoe! Who's leaving NUS this semester :(
Hardly anyone is staying on! :(

Champagne glasses that light up pink when you pour something into them!

Anyway overall I'm terribly lazy when it comes to colours for my makeup. If I find a colour/look that suits, I don't like changing it. Hence I never have a variety of things to recommend. Like sure I think I can pull off maybe girly pink light eyeshadow, or the wingtip-red-lipstick look, #humblebrag but as long as I don't find something BETTER than my current I'd probably never change. Boring as hell haha.

Showing two dresses today from Alvila Boutique! They have a lot of dresses suitable for the office, but my favourite is the gold (also comes in gunmetal grey) sequin one below!

Too bad I'm not gonna be able to wear it out for a while because of exams...
This week I had 2 tests, 1 presentation, 1 individual term essay & 1 group essay due O.O

I was secretly glad the two Nuffang advertorials this week were approved at the same time or I would have died trying to put up a blog post too! Usually I don't have problems juggling school & blogging but it was unlucky that my deadlines all came at around the same time the last 2 weeks.

Because someone said I should smile with teeth more... :D

Below is a comfy dress with a sequin collar!
